MAC Woods’ The Spoken Word of Social Identity Curriculum

Participants will analyze spoken word, comprise their own pieces, and be able to comprehend their personal social capital through artistic expression.

  • Phase 1: Learn how to approach literary theorizations of Blackness

  • Phase 2: Establish critical thinking verbally or through written expression

  • Phase 3: Learn how to apply theoretical tools from readings and performance to original creative work

  • Phase 4: Apply new approach to literary theorizations of Blackness

Educators are innovators.

Cordney obtained his Master’s in Business Administration from Ashford University and holds multiple certifications in areas such as financial literacy, diversity and inclusion, and project management but his passion is primarily community outreach. Cordney has over a decade of mentorship and professional development experience. He holds diversity education chairs in the corporate arena, sits on the board for the Black Male Initiative at the University of Central Oklahoma, and was selected as a participating member of Leadership Tulsa 360, class 68.

He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., an Oklahoma Army National Guard veteran, and co-founder of nonprofit organization Brother 4 Progress, Inc. He is also a husband and the father of two toddler girls.
