Cordney “MAC Woods” McClain is passionate about educating black youth and has taken his education and conducted financial literacy workshops throughout the Oklahoma City Metro area for the past decade. He has also served as education chairs for corporate companies, adjunct professor at the University of Central Oklahoma in support of the Black Male Initiative, partnered with diversity councils among various industries, and assisted in establishing relationships for The University of Oklahoma Outreach and minority mentoring programs. He hopes to bring social identity for African Americans to the forefront of higher education with his gift for writing and public speaking.
MAC Woods has obtained certifications in areas such as Financial Literacy Education, Project Management and Business Process Improvement. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. (of the Oh So Arrogant “Knowledge” Chapter of Zeta Omega), an Oklahoma Army National Guard veteran, and co-founder of non-profit organization Brother 4 Progress, Inc in which he conducts a summer boys youth camp annually with the Give A Lil Foundation in Oklahoma City. He is the husband of Mrs Carrie McClain and the father of two toddler girls, Ms Kimora Monáe and Ms Camílla Justice.
MAC Woods has his Master’s in Business but since the time of his adolescence has studied the art of rhyming and fell in love with Hip-Hop and it's poetry origin. Performance spoken word artist and author of Blacker Than Shakespeare’s Ink, a book of spoken word along with personal essays, released September of 2018,. His zealous yet eloquent messages pursue to inspire, evoke emotion, and present visions while giving a front row view of his personal narratives on race relations, class, religion, and personal evolution. Virtuous in his journey of spoken word and education, his goal for his work is to coincide the art and psychology to evoke determination, self evolution, and self love among the African American community.
